I've thoroughly enjoyed our presentation at the Heritage at Lowman Homes. We were all able to find the location although it was very much off-campus. We got there around 2:30pm so that we could install AOL Instant Messenger on all of the computers.
Once the senior citizens arrived, we started our presentation promptly at 3pm. The computer lab was basically full on this day. They were all very easy going and eager to learn. The purpose of our presentation was to show them how to create screen names and start them chatting with the others in the lab as well as friends and family members.
Each person in my group read aloud from the presentation package while the rest of us helped the senior citizens on an individual level. At the end of the presentation, it was hard for them to leave because they were chatting away on the computers. It felt good to teach a group how to become savvy in today's technologically advanced world.

U Blog 2
Hey I was watching this segment on television about the safety of cell phones. There are all types of spyware out now that allow anonymous people to tap into your phones, listen to you conversations, track you location using your phone's GPS, and also forward text messages to the "spyer's" e-mail. Safety is becoming more and more uncommon with the advances in technology. Some things have made our lives easier, but there are so many things out now that can destroy your identity or privacy.

The workplace learning in today's society has grown to become very important factor in the modern work environment. JetBlu and other companies are setting trends with the creation of "Universities" for their employees. This has created a more suitable environment for training and updating technology. Although I feel as if this method may cost a lot initially, it appears as if it can save money in the long run by having a dedicated staff and curriculum set up. In my work experience, I have never encountered this new learning method but i'm sure it will become more and more valuable to our future.

Structured Blog 1 (S-Blog 1)- Workplace Learning
I learned a lot of interesting things about trends in workplace learning and the need to train America's workplace to remain competitive. Competitiveness is essential to keeping a job in the workplace today. Technology is advancing faster and faster and only those who stay abreast to the updates and uses for technology will be an asset in the working world.
